With my lovely and "fun" friends, we head back to NYC
The night before the workshop we meet for a nice dinner.
Workshop Time - "A Need To Tell Stories"
Elizabeth Wix, Seth Apter, Roxanne Stout
with three wonderful and talented Instructors
Seth taught us how to construct and bind our books
Roxanne gave us art exercises
Elizabeth, in her fine English accent, opened our minds to tell our story through words
We tore papers, painted, and had moments of reflection
Autographs (now part of my book as I continue to work on it at home)
I have lots of collections from my trip to add to my pages.
Theme: Travel Journal
Seth and Roxanne make beautiful art collaborations together, sending them back and forth across our country (approx. 3000 miles one way).
To see some of their pieces in person made my heart jump.
They have an upcoming show together in Oregon, May 3rd, showing their works - if interested, check it out here
I don't get the privilege to take a lot of workshops, so this was very special to me. It was the perfect ending to my artful journey. I came home with so much inspiration. I learned so much, and for that I smile.
Thank you Seth, Roxanne and Elizabeth for all that you taught us. It truly was a unique and creative two days, filled with memorable moments. And I have my book to prove it!!!
...tomorrow, my last journal post of my last day in NYC.
