I created another sample book of my upcoming workshop, "Sentimental Journey". The photo on the front of this one is my paternal grandparent's wedding photo. Oh, how I miss them so much. Josephine and Nicholas
Inside I created pockets to hold my sentiments of the journey I've been on thus far.
I tucked in that little doll that my grandmother (Nana) gave to me many years ago. It was her little doll when she was young. Some where along the way, I've lost her arms. She is now tucked safely from further damage.
I tucked this little doll onto a beaded purse. It was a perfect size.
My friend, Jane, gifted me with 25 gifts last Christmas, this precious doll being one of them. I love it and her too :)
I used an old kid leather glove to tuck this sweet little doll in.
I call this my "Boho" spread. I love that vintage blue velvet and sure wish I had more of that. But now it has it's perfect place.
The back cover is of my beautiful mom, who I miss every day of my life.
For most of my life, I have collected little things from antique stores or flea markets. I have used many in my work but there are some I kept and will cherish forever. That is how this book idea came about, needing a place to house some my little treasures. Dolls do seem to be my theme for this one.
I thought how fun it would be to create pockets from your little girls dresses, booties, bonnets, etc. You could turn this book into so many things, It could be a prayer journal, tucking your prayers in the pockets and dedicating one to each person you love to pray for. It could be a wish journal too. So many possibilities.
I will be teaching this book class this month in Northern California and again on the East Coast next month. I am so looking forward to both events. I've been creating up a storm because I will be vending at both. Both trunk shows will be open to the public.
