Meet Princess Willow

This is our new little addition to our family.  We named her Willow.  We got her at the shelter yesterday.  She is six months old and had been at the shelter for two months, along with three other siblings.  We almost came home with two, but realized that one is good for us at this time.  Somehow, this little Chihuahua, short coat/Terrier reminded us of our Bailey Girl who was put down this past summer.  Even though Bailey was a black lab mix, Willow resembles her in many ways. 

We received a couple of gift cards for Christmas and naturally now I want to spend them on her. 

I never had a tiny dog before.  She loves to be held.  She is quite skiddish right now but after snuggling with her all night long, I think she is starting to feel a little more at home.

She finally ate a little this morning but still hasn't gone potty.  Do you think that is normal?

Doesn't she look like she is winking...lol.  Okay, I'm creating a fan page for her on Facebook.

Wait until you see the cutest sweater in the world that I purchased on Etsy for her.  She is going to be so spoiled.  I really have missed being a mommy to my fur babies.  Even though Willow won't replace Bailey and Bobo, I still have lots of room in my heart to love another puppy.

I see she is already a chewer.  Her pink rhinestone collar is a bit big for her and she already chewed the end of it.  I need to go out and get her some tiny bones.

We had a wonderful Christmas.  We spent a week in So. California with family and met up with some old friends.  We wanted to see more but time ran out.  There is always next time.  Glad to be home and so ready to get back into my routine. 

I plan to share some of my precious hand-made gifts I received and will do that soon.  Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Happy 2012!!!  Willow sends licks!

Gypsy Jane's Special Gift to Me - 25 Days of Christmas

Today the door bell rang.  I opened up the door to find a rather large package with my name on it.  It was from my dear friend, Jane.    Last week she told me she was working on a gift for me and just had to get it out.  I didn't understand her rush.  I kept telling her it wasn't even December yet.  Well, now I get it and her timing was perfect.

25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Can you believe this?  Jane made me an advent calendar.  It is beautiful.  She glued boxes she decoupaged and sealed, all in my favorite theme, dolls!  It is in Jane's signature color too, one I love also.  I think this is the sweetest, most thoughtful gift I've ever received.  Starting today I opened up box #1 to find this cutest guy...

How fun it is going to be to open each box for the next 25 days.  I can't wait to see the little treasures yet to be discovered.  I will share them each day here on my blog.  I can't thank Jane enough for such a great gift.  We talked and now I want to make her one for next year.  We thought it would be so much fun to create little things all year long to fill our advent calendars.  I feel so blessed to share life with my friend Jane.

For the past five years I have participated in a 12 days of Christmas ornament swap.  I promised a tutorial on my ornament December 4th.  However, the swap has been changed to further dates due to many members of the group having to deal with some hard issues.  Whenever my day will be, I will share the new fun  technique with you all that I have been playing with.  I know some of you on Facebook already know as I shared a bit there already.

I think now that it is December, I can officailly start saying Merry Christmas!!!
