You may have seen the photos below of the mess I created when I started to just dump out baskets of this and that, mostly fabrics. When you walk in our front door, to the right is my studio. I have to block it off to keep doggies out because they LOVE to eat my stuff. There is another entry that goes out to the hallway.
I love this large "advent calendar" Ron bought me for Christmas from Pottery Barn. I've decided to keep it up all year long. Makes a great storage space. For the most part, I have brought much of my stuff to the guest room across the hall. My studio now feels so big not having so much around me. I'm liking it.
I rolled up "almost" every piece of fabric I have into little bundles. I am hoping I can keep some order and "find" my fabrics easier now. We shall see if it works. Piles sure didn't work for me as much as I've tried.
So yes, all clean now and I'm ready to create.
I like that I can look out to the living room now and watch TV if I want. Usually I like it off all day. I enjoy the quiet until maybe Oprah comes on. Have you seen the last few shows where she took some views with her to Australia? What a beautiful country. I am dreaming of going there now.
Meanwhile...all the way from Denmark.
My dear sweet friend, Dorthe, sent this to me for my birthday next week. Isn't it precious! I love the J for me. She is mounted on what I do believe is drift wood that Dorthe collects ourside her door on the ocean front. I love how organic she is. Tucked her saftely in a box with fabrics watching over me as I work. You can find her in the picture above.
Dorthe has a really special way of wrapping her gifts. She always makes her own tags and writes the most beautiful words, friend to friend. Thank you Dorthe so very much.
For Christmas she made me this adorable little purse.
I love collecting little purses. Dorthe, did you know that? You are a good friend and I really do count my blessings that, though far away, you are near and dear to my heart.
Thank you friend. Sending love.
back to creating....happy weekend everyone. My honey turns 51 tomorrow!! Happy Birthday Ron.
