Well, coming back from a trip takes me a bit to re-group. My muse goes on vacation too so I'm waiting for it to come back. Meanwhile, I thought I would share some things I made for gifts. Oh, but first, I found this family picture of holidays that once were. The memories do carry me.
We always gathered at my Nana and Gramps house for all holidays growing up in New England. My mom (dark hair) is feeding my brother. She never nursed any of us. Guess it wasn't the thing to do back then. My Nana is seated to her left. She was the best grandmother ever! That was my mom's mom. Nana died at a good age of 91. My dad is seated to the right of my mother. Then comes my sister Nancy, then me looking at the camera. Next to me is my Uncle Bob, the only "real" uncle I've ever had and still do. He is the best. Uncle Bob is my mother's only sibling. My Aunt Jan is next, but not in the picture, then my cousin David. I don't remember who the lady is next to my grandmother. My grandpa was taking the picture. Very fond memories for sure.
Here are some gifts that I made this holiday season. I hope to make some more in this fashion.

There is a lot of symbolism in this piece. Tied to it is a cloth sheet explaining what it all means. This was a thank you gift to my dear Nellie and her husband. I also made her a leather ornament and this is what I put inside.
One of my dear friends, Geri, who I've been friends with since my early twenties, was born on Christmas Day. Her kids gave her a surprise birthday party on the 19th. Geri turned 49. She is a mother of five and now has nine grandchildren.

Okay, I have to show off Tom's sister, Jennifer's fur coat. She just returned from New York and purchased this while there. It is the softest fur I've ever felt. I just loved this coat. And I adore Jennifer too!
I made Geri a scarf for her birthday out of wool felt and vintage laces. I think she liked it :)
